Remember that old chimney that was in the middle of the living room and the kitchen????

Well it no longer exists! We have to build up a small post to have the furnace flue inside it but no more bricks!

Our crazy Squirrel

I looked out our bay window the other day and it would seem that we are not feeding the birds after all.... rather the crazy acrobatic squirrel that lives in our yard!

New Front Door

Gram Hubble sent us this neat coat hanger made with really cool old door knobs! If you look in some of the pictures further down you can see it hanging on the wall behind the door!

Nate working on putting in our new door. We salvaged it from a rebuilding center here in Portland and had to strip the paint off the inside. We decided to give it an "aged" look on the inside....

the best invention ever! I can unlock my deadbolt with a code we set or have the option of a key! Never going to have to be digging around in my purse again for my keys while carrying groceries, or have to carry a key on a run, or leave a key for someone when we go out of town! I can just preset a second code for them to use! YA!
It looks like the handle and lock are different colors but I think it is just the light, they are pretty close... weird lighting I guess
Now just to make the rest of the front of the house look nice around the door!

Sunny weather...time to stain the fence!

Well the fence finally got stained, took forever but it looks nice and it was almost 80 degrees out so it wasn't so bad being outside! I think I got a little sunburn even! I also got a TON of new freckles....ugh!!!!!

Floors!

The wood floors are the same in the dining and living room areas as well.....

It took a million coats of poly but the floors look fabulous now! These pictures were taken before I touched up the base mouldings so please ignore the stain that is on them.... :-)

While we were waiting for the floors to dry we decided to put up part of the new fence where the old ugly chain link one had been. Eventually it will go all the way around, we only got about the first 100 feet done that day.
